CGC Rail places great emphasis on helping communities
We have always believed that successful businesses need to give something back. CGC as a Group do lots of things that make things better for people.
One of our biggest initiatives has been to support organisations by creating:
AFTERNOON TEA WITH CGC
We provided funding for housing associations to host afternoon teas with the overall aim of fighting loneliness and isolation among vulnerable and older tenants and to promote companion ship.
It was an undoubted success and plans are already under way for us to demonstrate our support by doing it all again in 2018.
GAMBIA FUNDING
There is an international dimension to CGC’s work, too, notably by financially supporting the education charity Classrooms for Malawi and, most significantly, helping to sustain a nursery school in The Gambia. Every month CGC sends cash to The Gambia to fund the operation of the nursery school bringing education to the very young in this developing country. Improvements have included school uniforms, a new playground and the creation of toilets which did not exist before.
AYR COMMUINTY
In South Ayshire in summer 2017 we were a major sponsor of the Communities Fun Day held in Ayr.
